Sony Announces Disontinuation of XC-555 and XC-555P Cameras

Sony announced that the XC-555 and XC-555P cameras will be discontinued effective August 15, 2010.

Last Time Purchases: No later than November 15, 2010.

In place of the XC-555 and XC-555P, we would suggest as an alternative the XC-505 and XC-505P 1/3- type Super HAD II CCD videocameras.

Compared to the XC-555, the XC-505/XC-505P are equipped with several new features, including:

One push white balance

Noise reduction (2D/3D)

Built-in color bar

DTL function

RS-232C support
